Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to describe the types of harassment used by some teachers toward their students. This type of conduct is usually reflected as inhuman and cruel treatment, and sometime degrading, which affects the physical and psychological integrity of the students and leaves negative, and often, permanent traces. In the last few years it has become fashionable to talk about bullying or scholastic harassment from one or various students to another, but little has been said about harassment or bullying from some teachers towards students. This study describes four typical types of teacher-student violence: physical, symbolical, verbal and psychological, and analyzes its impact in relation with student motivation for learning. The obtained results show that the practice of teacher-student violence is still a common practice not only in elementary school, but also surprisingly enough at in high school. This is a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive and simple cross-sectional research, which describes the incidence of violent teacher-student behavior; for carry it out, we applied a survey to 693 high school students in the state of Puebla.
