Gender perspective, key in documenting and investigating human rights violations
Main Article Content
Abstract
Investigations into human rights violations have been and continue to be made without incorporating the gender perspective, namely not taking into consideration the specific conditions and needs of women. This corresponds to an androcentric system that permeates the social, cultural, legal and economic areas, and results in discrimination and impeding the exercise of the rights of women to face violations of their human rights. According to this, there is an urgent need to incorporate the principle of equality and mainstreaming gender in human rights violations of women research, in order to ensure the justiciability of human rights and comply with the State obligations in the topic.
