The influence of the International system and the constitutional reform of human rights in Mexico

Abstract

This article proposes that, in addition to other factors, constitutional reform on human rights in 2011 was a result of the intervention of the international system agencies that intervened with severe scrutiny by prosecutions both the international system (United Nations) and the American system (Inter-American Commission on Human Rights). Within a context of abuses and violations, this work focuses on the role played by the various bodies, committees and mechanism in the forging of constitutional human rights reform in 2011 in Mexico.

Cuenta con estudios de doctorado en Ciencias Sociales en la Universidad de Guadalajara/Ciesas, y realizó un postdoctorado en América Latina Contemporánea en el Instituto Ortega y Gasset de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Es profesor-investigador de la Academia de Ciencia Política y Administración Urbana de la Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM) y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores.
