How to truly inhabit the Earth: environmental sustainability from the perspective of law and philosophy
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study addresses environmental sustainability from the perspectives of law and philosophy, aiming to identify challenges and opportunities in the face of climate change, contributing to the formulation of new interpretations beyond what is already established. To implement this a bibliographic review was conducted, including articles, books, reports from international agencies, scientific news, and international conventions, among others. The issue at hand was examined using the deductive method based on two vectors: a) the legal-normative frameworks concerning the state of environmental law, and b) the philosophical approach, drawing from studies on being and ethics, primarily referencing Martin Heidegger and Aristotle. The conclusion emphasizes the need to rehabilitate ethics in environmental issues to ensure sustainable development and, thus, effectively inhabit the Earth.
