Abstract

The article presents the relevance of human rights education, specifically to eradicate discrimination against women, as a measure that meets international standards and obligations on the matter. Therefore, it´s presented a theoretical-practical proposal that aims to contribute to prevention and eradication of discrimination against women in Mexico, which consists of workshops that promote favorable social representations of women and combat stereotypes and gender roles. Such psychosocial intervention is aimed at primary school children and secondary school adolescents, so they have a preventive nature. And to complete the intervention, parents are another target population. The workshops proposal is based on the model of planned change proposed by Kurt Lewin from Gestalt psychology, which consists of questioning and destabilizing the system of beliefs, values and behaviors of a certain social structure, in order to replace it with another system that promotes a culture of respect for human rights and non-discrimination of women. To this model, from the proposal that is proposed, is added the theory of social representations and the processes of problematization, awareness and denaturation, raised from community psychology. The confluence of several theoretical approaches, but with an evident practical purpose, all coming from social psychology, allows us to think about the self-reflexive group processes necessary to be able to carry out social change.
