Right to independent living: encounters, families and dialogues

Abstract
This essay aims to explore the principal aspects of persons with disabilities’ independent living right and its public policies. In contrast, we present a methodology proposal on communitarian work from the perspective better known as ‘encountering pedagogy’. We highlight some new aspects about communitarian work related with corporeity, careful listening and inquiry as pedagogy elements. Those elements, we suggest, could be incorporated into the independent living right.
